New Workforce Housing Is Going Up in Sidney

Project details:

  • Funding: Rural Workforce Housing Award (State of Nebraska)
  • New homes built: 7
  • Location: Sidney, NE

Across the Panhandle, employers face workforce shortages, and one of the biggest barriers to recruitment and retention is housing. Available homes are scarce, and much of what’s on the market is aging.

Panhandle Regional Development Incorporated (PRDI) partnered with the City of Sidney to build seven new homes through a Rural Workforce Housing Award from the State of Nebraska. The homes are built for working families, professionals, and individuals who are essential to the community’s growth and stability.

Seven new homes means more modern housing options for residents, more neighborhood growth, and more economic activity in Sidney. In a region where the housing shortage affects everything from hiring to long-term planning, that kind of investment matters.
